Product Description
Simons, a feng shui master and astrologer, teaches readers how to feng shui their homes in a clear, step-by-step fashion and gives personalized advice based on readers' dates of birth. Simons presents not only the popular eight-point method but also divining techniques and other authentic Chinese methods that make analysis more complete.

From the Author
DEAR READERS

In reading over some of the reader's reviews, two points appear very much in need of clarification, namely, the nature of the Chinese calendar (upon which the Chinese astrological and compass methods in my books are based) and whether or not my books are just for beginners.

There are two Chinese calendars. One is Solar and one is Lunar. Both are combined in the "Li Shu," or astrological ephemeris. The Solar calendar, upon which 9-Star astrology is based, begins every year on about February 4th, i.e. 15 degrees Aquarius (the mid-point between Winter Solstice and Vernal Equinox). The Lunar calendar, upon which the Ba Tzu astrology is based, always begins on the 2nd New Moon after the Winter Solstice. Both systems are clearly described in my books, 9 Star in my first two books, Ba Tzu in my third. My astrological, and therefore calendrical, calculations are absolutely correct.

As to whether my books are for beginners or not, they are, indeed, for beginners, but they are for advanced students as well. They go as far as any book in a non-Chinese language can possibly go without going into nonsense. There are, of course, more advanced techniques, but the interested student must undergo personal training in order to learn them. I privately teach the most advanced classical fengshui techniques, which include the complete Ba Tzu astrological system with its Lo Pan compass methods. To learn these, the student has to first to learn a basic set of no fewer than about 50 Chinese characters in order to read, and make calculations with, the Li Shu, and so forth. Notwithstanding, what is in my books works very well. My books are 100% traditional, straight forward and designed as step-by-step manuals. If you use them, you will get very positive results.

5.0 out of 5 stars Terrific step-by-step approach, extremely useful, March 10, 1997
By A Customer
I have read a lot of books on feng shui, and this was the most useful of all. The author methodically walks you through each step, in an in-depth manner. Most feng shui books tell you to "put something there, put something here" but this book tailors everything to YOU THE READER. It starts out with basic Chinese astrology charts (I was skeptical but patient). After that, you work with your own floor plan and possible colors and furniture arrangement. The chapter that was most meaningful to me was on clutter, and the relationship of clutter to problems in your life. Lo and behold, we had clutter in each financial corner of every room in our house. As soon as I read it, I dropped the book, jumped up and cleaned out each corner (you'll have to read the book to find out which corner of each room that is). Our financial worries are vastly reduced since that time 3 months ago, and I've gone to apply the principles quite seriously. Even my little children know not to let things pile up in the corners because Mommy says its "bad luck."

5.0 out of 5 stars The best and simplest explanation of and guide to feng shui, October 21, 1998
By A Customer
This is the best book yet I've read about feng shui, and I have about five other books on this subject. The author explains everything so that any idiot can understand how to make their home more feng shui. So easy to understand now with straight forward steps that other books just don't give.

5.0 out of 5 stars Good beginner's book, especially for busy but curious folks., September 2, 1999
By A Customer
This is a good introduction to both the concepts and techniques of feng shui. While it does lack some of the background and detail of the meaning of feng shui, it gets you started quickly and guides you through the analysis of your space, so you can begin to experience the effects of being more aware of your surroundings and their influence on your daily existence. Good job!
