From Booklist
Containing visual materials Thwaite collected while researching her 1990 biography of A. A. Milne, this attractive book is a treasure trove for fans of Pooh. There are photographs of Milne, his family, sites from the books, and some rather threadbare stuffed animals, as well as newspaper and magazines articles and interviews. Among the more intriguing inclusions are illustrations by Shepard that do not appear in the books as well as other artists' illustrations, Dorothy Parker's satiric remarks about the books and Milne's reply, reactions to the original Disney film, information about early printings for book collectors, and a look at Pooh merchandise. Altogether, this is a fascinating, eclectic scrapbook with well-reproduced, full-color illustrations and lively, intelligent commentary by Thwaite. Carolyn Phelan
