About the Author
Most Reverend John B. Reid, Ph.D. was educated at California Christian University and International Reform University. He earned the doctor of philosophy degree in 1993. In 1996, Father Reid was ordained by the Western Rite Syriac Orthodox Church of Antioch, and in 2006 was made bishop of Los Angeles, Orange, and San Bernadino Counties. The author also works in alcoholism, drug addiction, and marriage and trauma counseling.

On first reading I thought this book must have been written for me! No kidding. It reaches to the heart; God's love is for everyone. Anyone who reads it will be able to apply the message personally. As Bishop Reid says "God, I'll peddle, you steer"; a simple yet powerful message.

I'm on my second reading and plan on giving this book as gifts to people I love.

This book effectively combines proven self-help ideas with essential biblical guidance in a very practical, straight-forward manner. One's very spiritual identity and development is both challenged and encouraged in the easy to read passages of the book. An amazingly succinct, but powerful message for effective everyday living is provided in an easy to comprehend fashion. The candor and humility of the author is refreshing. Thanks for the uplifting and redirecting message.

Dirty thoughts, dirty bodies; is Christianity a religion based on shame? "Close Your Eyes So You Can See Me" presents Most Reverend John B. Reid's belief that Christianity should not put so much emphasis on shame. Promoting love of all people, even non-Christians, Reid has a highly positive message that more people, Christian or not, could enrich their lives by reading. "Close Your Eyes So You Can See Me" is a strong choice for any Christian leader.
