In Iacocca ( LJ 1/85), the author focused primarily on what goes on in the boardrooms of Ford and Chrysler. In this sequel, America's best known respected CEO turns to the nation's problems. Along the way he outlines his theory of management, including the eight "commandments" he has developed over a 40-year career. He addresses such public policy problems as corporate takeovers, the trade deficit, the plight of farmers, education, and the declining quality of American products. More personally, he talks about raising his two daughters, coping with his wife's death, his recent divorce, growing old, and what he would do if he were president, but making it clear the office holds no allure for him.
