I have a granddaughter who wants to become a nurse and I looked for books that would encourage her interest. I was really disappointed not to find any young adult fiction out there today with a character as a nurse--unless there was also vampires. I remembered this series from when it first came out and feel fortunate to have been able to find all the books.

When an unknown virus lands many people of Grant, Mass. into intensive care at the local hospital, the medical staff know they are up against something deadly. And deadly is what characterizes Diane Hoh's plots perfectly! if you are a fan of young adult novels and enjoy suspence and "cliff hangers" at the end of every chapter, this is the book for you. The main characters are lively and believable, without being too stereotipical. Diane Hoh is definetely a master at her craft!

I have read two of the Med Center books. This is one of them. I thought that both were excellent! I scored both of them with a ten! This book was exciting! It carried you through many other peoples points of views. I loved being able to read about how one character was mad at another in the story and then turn around and see that the other one had family problems and that was why she was so rude! I thought that it was neat how at first only a few people had it. It made it really different trying to figure out how those certain people got it. It was also about a secret romance that wasn't revealed until the end of the story when the love was almost broken due to the horrible virus going around. It makes you really appreciate what you have.

This book is a great book. Like all of the books in this fabolus series, by Diane Hoh, it is chilling, thrilling, and
exciting. It leaves you on the edge of your seat all the time. You will not be able to put down this book!! It is
about Med Center, the best in the country, maybe the world, when an unexplainable virus hits Grant, the town Med Center is in, and someone dies from it, and other people are getting it. It goes through lots of tough descisions, so you will always be wondering "What will happen next??!!" Buy this book and I gaurantee (Well, sort of!! In a kinda word way) that you will like it!!!

This book was amazing, I can usually only read books once or twice but i have read this book 5 times. This book has inspired me to become a voluteer at my neighbourhood hospital. This book reminds me of my life. a new virus that no one has heard of struck my city (Toronto) and everyone is panicking, and also the volunteers remind me of me and my friends who volunteer at our hospital too. Sunnybrook (my local hospital) sounds a lot like Med Centre. I LOVED THIS BOOK AND I GUARANTEE YOU WILL TOO!!!

I just finished reading the book in 2 days. I stayed up late in the night because i couldn't set the book down. The supense was wonderful. I never stopped reading the book. Diane Hoh did such a great job describing the charaters that i felt i knew them personally. The charatertics were so vivid I could match them to my own friends. The book was so cool that it has inspired me to consider being a voleenter a my local hostiptal one day.
