Product Description

Are little green men observing us? And if they are, out of all of the planets in the universe why us? Meet Henry O'Malley, burned out CIA field agent with two years until early retirement. He takes an assignment in New Mexico he hopes will keep him alive and out of the limelight until retirement and unwittingly walks into a three-ring circus. He has just become the agent in charge of ETRAND - Extraterrestrial Research and Development. He heads an unlikely group of heroes: a computer whiz, language expert, anthropologist, mathematician, engineer, security man, and physician. As he settles into his job, the unthinkable happens. 'The atmosphere heated up the outside of the ship significantly. The computer adjusted the cooling system to compensate. At about 20,000 feet the winds started slamming against the craft. The computer was unable to compensate for the irregular variations in the wind speed. It had never encountered winds of this magnitude before. Then the snow started. This was also an unknown to the computer. It iced the delicate mapping sensors and cameras that typically guided the ship through rough terrain. The computer was flying blind. At 10,000 feet the ship skimmed the side of a mountain ripping the exterior door from the fuselage. The ship continued its downward path and collided with the side of another mountain. The ship slid down the slope of the mountain digging a deep trench in the snow and knocking over the small evergreens in its path. It came to a sudden halt as it slammed against a large grove of Ponderosa pines. Snow fell from the trees and covered the large craft. The computer shut off the collision alarm and the ship was silent. Then the computer began issuing a distress signal in accordance with its crash protocol.'

5.0 out of 5 stars Sarah and O'Malley, December 20, 2000
By Carol (Albuquerque, NM USA) - See all my reviews
Excellent description of these two characters; Sarah is an alien, but she is also a woman who is desired and connected to O'Malley. Neither character realizes just what is happening to them at first during the landing of Sarah's spacecraft. While she is saved by O'Malley and his crew she has already defended herself on the spacecraft from some of her enemies.(Also aliens) She is very near death when it crashes in the mountains near the VLA (very large array)in New Mexico. Both Sarah and O'Malley have led very colorful lives before this encounter--and both want out of that past life. This is a book that has to be read when you have the time to just do it, cause it was hard for me to put it down.

5.0 out of 5 stars Couldn't put it down, December 28, 2000
By A Customer
Little Green Men is a great sci-fi action-adventure love story that holds so close to the possible one could easily imagine Henry O'Malley, the hero, doing battle with the crazy general in charge of Project Bluebook. The characters are likeable, the story possible and probable, and the plot very exciting. I see this book being a movie in the near future. Imagine Sleepless in Seattle meets Close Encounters of the Third Kind.
