Product Description

Choices, decisions. We all face them. Those defining moments in our life when the decisions we make will alter our life forever. Now is Richard D’Cygnet’s time to face that Turning Point. The choices he makes, however, will affect the lives of everyone around him, and reverberate through four kingdoms. Richard has been sent on what seems a simple assignment. Deliver invitations to the neighboring kingdoms of Westfeld to the coronations of his stepfather, Aldric and his mother, Joanna, as King and Queen of Albon. Recently conquered by Aldric, Albon adds a second crown to his title as King of Calmora. Richard discovers that all is not quite what it seems in Westfeld. Awakened by his presence, the Magic of the land presents a problem for him. It is a Magic he doesn’t quite believe in, and it has a proposition for him, a chance for him to attain what has been denied him by his stepfather, but it is not the only offer Richard receives while in Westfeld. Upon his returning to Albon , Richard realizes these offers place him uncomfortably at the center of attention and intrigue. Other plans are being made for his life. His stepfather has distinct plans for not just Richard but for all the unmarried youth in his kingdom. Meanwhile a maniacal foe plots Richard’s death. He must come to terms with the Magic and it’s power, make all the right choices, and still manage to stay alive, just to face the ripples and consequences of what his choices and decisions are.

4.0 out of 5 stars The Dragon and The Rose, June 11, 2001
A very compelling story in which the reader is drawn into a world of Magic, intrigue and romance. The charecters are colorfully developed and the storyline flows with just enough mystery to keep the reader wanting more .... Very Good indeed !!!!

5.0 out of 5 stars Sword and Sorcery at its finest!, September 2, 2002
Ms. Hundertmark spins a ripping good yarn here, with vivid characters travelling in a fascinating and well thought-out alternate world. The author's keen eye for myth and human nature lend uncommon depth to this tale of an heroic quest in a world of swords and magicks. If you're a fan of fantasy works, you definitely want to get in on the ground floor of this marvellous series.
