Editorial Reviews

Product Description
Ever wonder what would happen if a Princess was abducted by a vile beast, and then met a talking rock and a depressed jester, and they all ended up fighting against an evil wizard with a magic boot? If you haven't wondered that, you're probably like most people, who tend to wonder about more important things like, "When does the bus get here?" and "How come they keep putting 'Survivor' back on?" Even if you haven't wondered about things like vile beasts and princesses, you'll still enjoy reading The Three Authors' Tales, because the authors have gone to the trouble of wondering about these things for you. The Three Authors' Tales are loaded with vile beasts, princesses, talking rocks, wizards, fuzzy pink alligators, Space Boss Model Three Head Melters, and lots of other interesting topics that generally aren't discussed in polite circles. With the wondering already taken care of, you can sit back, relax and enjoy a collection of tales that are sure to entertain, and who knows…you just might get your mind to take a break from more important things for a little while.

About the Author
Michael LaReaux is the editor and co-author of the Three Authors' Tales. He has a BA in English from CSU Hayward, and currently resides in Utah. This is his first published work.

5.0 out of 5 stars Quite a piece of work!, September 25, 2003
By "zelmer" (Garden Valley, CA United States) - See all my reviews
I can't say enough good things about these stories. I mean what can be better than spending an evening reading about talking rocks and extremely violent and bloodthirsty fuzzy red aligators?

Here is a little taste to whet your appitite.

"Eeecckkk", screamed Elissaia. There was a large skull grinning at her.

"No reason to be afraid of me missy. We are just a pile of old bones". The pile scared her though no matter what they said to calm her down. So she did what any self respecting princess would do. The bones screamed the whole way down and cursed Elissaia for tossing them over the side. It was not long after she did this that a large slug happened by on his way to study at the University of Spineless Creatures.

"Ulp nig cige whycgo slllrrp?" asked the slug.

"Vig zen qtuito asdf. Prosngettsi." Elissaia was quite fluent in slug because it was required learning at princess school. She couldn't remember exactly why is was so important just that it was meant to reduce race related violence between man and slugs. It worked. Humans and slugs became trading partners and will now fight side by side in battle to protect their homes and families. The slug offered her a ride. Elissaia graciously excepted. She grabbed onto the slugs strong back and it took her towards the university, which of course is on the same block as the evil wizards castle.

What can I say? This book is a masterpiece!

5.0 out of 5 stars Fantastic stories!, May 22, 2003
By Michael T. Saldivar (Castro Valley, CA USA) - See all my reviews

The book has 5 short stories - two are fantasy, one Sci-Fi, and two Westerns. All of them are funny, and they move at a good pace. The language is clean and colorful, and the descriptions lively. With dialog like: "Please, ma'am, call me Cres, and don't touch the cowhide. If you get my smell on yerself, the wolves will never leave you alone. Now, please step aside."
the stories don't get old no matter how frequently you read them!

3.0 out of 5 stars Worth a Look, August 16, 2005
By Michael S. Lareaux "belcatar" (Greenfield, New Hampshire, USA) - See all my reviews
(REAL NAME)
This book, while not as polished as Tolkien or Rowling, or as witty as Douglas Adams, does have a great deal of good clean fun. Unless you count all the vomit jokes, the two cases of entire species being wiped out, and horrible fate of the slow peasants who unwittingly found themselves in the path of the MOOMS. Besides these shocking and lurid accounts of violence and indigestion, the stories are entertaining and perhaps even morally and socially relevant. Unless you count Cheyenne Red Eagle Stern's story. That one isn't all that relevant. It's barely even finished. But other than that, they do have a kind of moral framework. The good guys win, the bad guys get punished, that sort of thing.

A person can learn a lot by reading this book. A person might not be able to use that knowledge anywhere, but at least the person's head will be filled with a few more useless facts. Buy the book. You probably won't be sorry. But you might. How should I know? You could be anyone, reading this.
