They travel to Los Angeles where they hope to find prosperity. The couple moves into a coach house in Los Angeles, where they discover a hidden treasure in a long forgotten cellar. Two white conmen arrive on the scene after following a trail of rumors which has led them to this secreted treasure. Louise, the heroine is suspicious of the men and tries to convince her husband that they are up to no good. Dennis refuses to agree with her. Louise snoops around in the men’s apartment and finds out that they are ex-convicts and finds evidence linking them to the hidden treasure. 5.0 out of 5 stars Highly recommend reading From Avinger To Iroquois Street, June 4, 2006
The story is based on a young African American couple but the events that occurred could have happened to anyone. The execution of the storyline makes it a suspenseful mystery. Once I started reading, it was hard to put the book down because I was eager to find out how the story ended. I highly recommend this novel and I'm looking forward to reading more novels from this author.

5.0 out of 5 stars Striking review of From Avinger to Iroquois Street, May 31, 2006
By Deborah Rice (Chicago, Illinois) - See all my reviews
The author does a great job of providing a realistic historical setting and storyline to draw the reader to the characters--ensuring an emotional connection between the reader and the characters. Such a literary setup plays nicely into the requirements of the Mystery/Suspense genre. After the readers become engrossed in the protagonists and their realistic life struggles, the author introduces two new villains, and their storyline--which nicely threatens the protagonists and leaves the reader wondering whether they will succeed.
