In todays society, there are those who starve, binge, drug and even cut and mutilate themselves to handle the pains and stress associated with life. There are those who can only watch as their loved ones suffer through this ordeal, feeling just as much pain if not more than the injurers themselves.
Yet, very little acknowledgement is given for these people whose patience and support gives hope for those who suffer from self injury.
Just as the injurer has to realize that he or she is not alone, it is equally important that friends and family realize that they too are not alone.
This book is a compilation of stories of self injury as seen through the eyes of a loved one. Through these pages, one can read through the ordeals parents, friends and spouses had to go through while witnessing their loved one engaging in the act of self injury. Through the times of heartfelt tears and hopelessness through the times of joy and victory, no matter how small the winnings are, this book has it all.
It is my hope that with this book, you can find peace and hope in your personal struggle beyond the razors edge.
