Amazon.com Review

Sexuality is something we deal with, in one way or another, from cradle to grave. All About Sex compiles the latest information on every imaginable aspect of sexuality--from autoeroticism to tantric sex--and presents it nonjudgmentally; for example, the book notes that some Native American tribes revered homosexuals as members of a highly evolved third gender. The meat of the book, though, is its clear and complete explanations of human reproduction and sexual pleasure; of sexually transmitted infections; and of birth-control options for open-minded families with curious teens and preteens. All About Sex is an ideal text to keep around the house.

From Library Journal

A no-nonsense guide to sex and sexuality, this latest release from Planned Parenthood (following The Planned Parenthood Women's Health Encyclopedia, LJ 9/15/96) is impressive in its scope and breadth; to call it thorough would be an understatement. A small sampling of the diverse smorgasbord of subjects covered includes cross-dressing; "Why does sexuality start?"; why people have sex; "What do we learn about sex from our religions?"; sexual assault, abuse, and incest; and sexual-research pioneers William Masters and Virginia Johnson. Written in direct, easy-to-read language, the book is organized by topical chapters. It concludes with an extensive bibliography, a very helpful glossary, and the names, addresses, telephone hot lines, and web sites of numerous sexual health services/organizations. More than 80 years after its creation, Planned Parenthood continues to produce helpful, honest, and pertinent sexual and health information. Essential for all public library collections. 4.0 out of 5 stars Embarassed? Read and share this book with your child!, August 3, 2000
By "autumn1996" (SAN LEANDRO, CA USA) - See all my reviews
This is an incredible book. It is a straight forward, intelligent, yet understandable book every family should own. I give four stars instead of five, because it is a bit liberal, in relationship to the abstience argument most parents give to their teens. But, if your looking for a book that addresses all the issues, that we as sexual beings face, this ones for you.

5.0 out of 5 stars BUY IT FOR YOUR KIDS!, November 18, 2001
The Unitarian Universalist Church offers a course called Our Whole Lives (OWL) for its teenagers. This book is a recommended resource. We keep it in our bathroom so that any family member with a question or curiosity can find out genuine, frank information about this basic and all-encompassing aspect of human essence. Highly Recommended.
