1.0 out of 5 stars Not helpful at all, September 20, 2002
By C. Quinn (Washington, DC) - See all my reviews
(TOP 1000 REVIEWER)    (REAL NAME)
This book was a total waste of money. The elegant weddings cost so little because the brides have family or friends who provide food, liquor, photos, reception sites, etc. If you have an aunt who is a professional wedding photographer, you probably don't need to spend money on a book that tells you to ask her to take your photos. If you don't have family who can provide these services, or you don't want to ask your friends to provide a dish for a potluck reception, then do yourself a favor and save the money you planned to spend on this book for your wedding itself. It should receive zero stars.

5.0 out of 5 stars Real life ideas for real life weddings, May 19, 2001
By Dede Wilson (Amherst, MA United States) - See all my reviews
This is a wonderful book with real-life solutions for brides-to-be. As a party planner for over 15 years, I have had the occasion to help hundreds of brides plan their weddings and there is an abundance of usable ideas in this book. The average wedding in the U.S. is tens of thousands of dollars and that simply does not make sense. The bridal industry takes advantage of brides who want their day to be a once in a lifetime event - Kathleen Kennedy helps them do just that, but with budget conscious ideas. This is not a book about cutting corners. It is about making priorities and planning a wedding that truly reflects who the bridal couple is; that, as Kennedy explains, does not have to break the bank. I will recommend this book to every bride I know.

5.0 out of 5 stars Truly Priceless, December 29, 2000
By A Customer
I thought this book was great. Dealing with a low budget and wanting the perfect wedding, I found this book very helpful in managing lesser expenses, and still pulling off the wedding of my dreams. The author helped me to focus on the really important things I wanted rather than the superficial things. A great book for low cost and well done weddings. Recomended to all who are planning weddings.
