'This book started out as an attempt to photograph interior decoration in one or two roomed shacks. It proved to be hugely inspiring and resulted in a richly layered experience and a book which exceeded my expectations. The warmth with which we were received gave me a whole new perspective on my idea of community and home. The images are but one aspect.
