This manual describes in detail the causes and prevention of the lymphoedemas, includung the most common type which follows surgery or radiotherapy for malignant tumours, in a way which is easily understood. Chronic veinous insuffieciency of the leg and lipoedems are also discussed.

Clear cut guidelines are given, whereby astutue and cooperative patients, their carers and their medical advisors are helped to work through the difficult phase of rehabilitation.

A detailed description of the physical techniques of oedema clearance complements this text.

The great demand for this informative guide has necessitated publication of this fifth edition. This guarantees that the work will be up to date in its material content. -- from book's back cover
