Amazon.com Review

The Saint is anything but. He is a corporate spy for hire whose allegiance belongs to the highest bidder. A tyrannical Russian nationalist hires the Saint to swipe a top-secret formula that he hopes will earn him millions. The Saint sets off to accomplish his mission, but his normally unassailable strategy for success is foiled when he falls for the beautiful scientist who invented the formula. Before the Saint can even consider giving up his lucrative life of crime for the woman he loves, he must evade the Russian's assassins and Scotland Yard. He then has to hack through ultra-high-tech security systems to get the formula back into the right hands and save Mother Russia. Author Burl Barer invents fantastic disguises, devilish villains, and ingenious technology to heighten this tale of international espionage.

Product Description

A man with no identity. A spy with no allegiance. A thief with no scruples. Simon Templar, a.k.a. The Saint, is all of these things -- and his services can be bought for the right price. Hired by a Russian nationalist to swipe a top-secret formula from an American electrochemist, Templar figures it's rubles in the bag. But the beautiful Dr. Emma Russell proves to be much more than his usual mark, and stealing her life's work brings on a sudden, unprecedented attack of Saintly ethics.

Now, with love in his heart, Scotland Yard on his trail, and power-mad Muscovites hot on his heels, the Saint must dodge assassins' bullets, crack killer security codes, and don a multitude of disguises in a desperate bid to save Russia, his personal angel, and his own less-than-virtuous life.

5.0 out of 5 stars A Great Read!, December 5, 1997
The author has captured the flavour and style of the original Leslie Charteris' novels. This novelization is far superior to the film. I recommend this to all Saint fans.
