Product Description

EVERYONE'S GOT HIS DEMONS....

For Angel, life as a vampire was a constant thrill. Power, danger, cool clothes (never getting old, also a plus). But in the end, it was all about the kill -- until he killed the wrong girl.

"Gypsies, in my experience, are heavily into vengeance. They cursed me. Gave me back my soul. I had to live with everything I'd done and I had to live forever. It took another woman to show me that my endless life was worth living."

Buffy the Vampire Slayer was Angel's first true love, but the relationship was doomed from the start -- a moment of true happiness would cause Angel to lose his soul forever. So he left -- Sunnydale, Buffy, and everything else meaningful to him.

"Alive for 244 years, I thought I'd seen everything. Then I came to L.A."

City of Angels. Run by powerful forces, agents of pure evil. It's a city hard on its human population. If Angel wants to save himself, he's going to have to save them...somehow. With the help of two unlikely allies -- a half-demon and a ex -- May Queen -- he's going to set up shop....

And keep watch over his city.

5.0 out of 5 stars Good quick read for Buffy and Angel fans., January 22, 2000
I love this book so much I've already read it twice. Basically it's a novelization of the first Angel episode, with some flashbacks from Buffy episodes and Angel's past as a vampire mixed in. I reccommend this book to all fans of Buffy the Vampire Slayer and Angel.

5.0 out of 5 stars Better than the episode, March 17, 2000
By algerina "algerina" (Saint Paul, MN USA) - See all my reviews

While this book does contain the novelization of the first episode of Angel, it is far better. It explores Angel's past with vivid adventures from his bad days. It revisits the restoration of his soul. A must read even for fans who have followed the Buffy series from the beginning. I highly recommend this well told tale. Another excellent story by Nancy Holder

4.0 out of 5 stars Good book, especially for newcomers!, January 20, 2000
By A Customer
I enjoyed this book, especially because I had only started watching Buffy a year ago and missed much of Angel's history. Intermixed with the novelization of "City Of" is flashbacks to Angel's past that fills a lot of gaps for newcomers. Unfortunately, the flashbacks may be distracting for die-hard Buffy fans. Good book, I read it in two days!
