Editorial Reviews

From Library Journal

In this book, last revised in 1984, Allen preaches the gospel of material success through real estate investment. His system involves identifying properties (primarily multi-unit dwellings) that can be had on excellent terms or below market value because the sellers ("don't wanters") are anxious to get rid of them, then devising creative ways to borrow money (from banks, partners, or even the seller) for the down payment. Allen's hucksterism may grate, but he delivers the goods: dozens of fully realized "nothing down" techniques with financial details. Since the savings and loan crisis will dump staggering amounts of foreclosed real estate on the market, with Uncle Sam as the ultimate "don't wanter," this may be big news for the '90s. Recommended.

5.0 out of 5 stars It doesn't take money to make money, January 31, 2004
By A Customer
A very common misconception about money is that it takes money to make money. Have you ever heard that one? I know I have, in fact, I still do. No wonder so many people are broke and unhappy!

Robert Allen's landmark manifesto "Nothing Down" demolishes that old tired and untrue statement. Nothing could be further from the truth. You see the way it goes is, it does take money...but it doesn't have to be your money.

With Nothing down you will learn how to buy real estate with none of your own money. You will learn how to negotiate like a pro. You will learn how to work with realtors.

Although written for the 90's (1991) the methods still work today. If the real estate bubble that so many people are calling for really happens, then this information will become all that much more valuable.

Great book Robert. A classic and a best seller for over 24 years. And for a reason----IT WORKS.

5.0 out of 5 stars The Get Rich Quicker Plan, February 5, 2004
By A Customer
Allen's Nothing Down real estate program may not be "get rich quick" but it sure is get rich quicker. By using his "nothing down" techniques, an average person can amass a fortune very quickly...all with little or none of your own money.

I was curious if Allen's methods really worked so I pulled oout the ads from the real estate section of the paper and called a few "don't wanters." Without really knowing what I was doing I found 5 sellers eager to sell me their homes with "nothing down."

Folks, this stuff works.

5.0 out of 5 stars Buy real estate with no money down--it works, February 1, 2004
By A Customer
Robert Allen has put together all the strategies to buy a personal home or rental properties with little or none of your own money.

I bought my first home with these techniques and rental properties. The ideas work.

I would also recommend Real Estate for Real People and Real Estate Money Machine along with Brilliant Deductions to round out your real estate education.

Real Estate is always a great investment, if you know how. These books show you the how.
