With concise, readable instructions she handily takes the absolute novice through the nuts-and-bolts of water skiing basics, as well as giving the more experienced practitioner tips for improvement and fine-tuning. Nothing is left to chance, with chapters on "Essential Equipment," "Boats and Drivers," and even "Installing Your Own Slalom Course." Naturally, water skiing cannot be learned from a book, no matter how well written. However, Duvall provides an accessible work on what is in store and, for those who've already started, how to make it easier and more enjoyable. A handy glossary defines and references common water skiing terms and acronyms. A good purchase for resort area public libraries. Illustrations not seen.
