From the Publisher
Jerry Osborne is Mr. Music -- there's no doubt about that! His weekly feature, "Mr. Music" -- has been in newspaper syndication since 1986. He has been a record collector for nearly 40 years, and an author of record price guides and reference works since 1975! Plus, he's a blast to work with -- what more could a hard-working editor ask for? If you have the chance to listen to one of Jerry's radio or TV interviews, don't miss the opportunity.

OFFICIAL PRICE GUIDE TO RECORDS was growing so fast and furious that we had to grow the size of the book or it would burst at the seams! The 12th edition has over 600 pages of listings and photos of LPs, 45s and more.

--Randy Ladenheim-Gil, Editor, House of Collectibles --This text refers to an out of print or unavailable edition of this title.

5.0 out of 5 stars The most comprehensive record price guide , bar none., September 22, 1999
I am no stanger to The Official Price Guide to Records by Jerry Osborne . I was reading his price guides over a decade ago and each edition keeps getting better and more detailed ,not to mention more artists are listed in the 13th ed. that were'nt listed in the past. I have to admit the print is smaller on this edition, but still worth the price. I recommend this to any record collector novice or expert.

5.0 out of 5 stars Still the best despite some inaccuraies, July 25, 1997
By A Customer
I decided to buy this book (now in it's 12th edition) after deciding my 3rd edition (from the 80's) was no longer readable. I used it then and I will be using this new edition for a while. Despite an occasional ommission and a couple blatant price misprints, this edition is the largest (over 100,000 prices) and most complete of any. Unless you are a record store owner or archivist, you are not likely to find many records (including 45's, 78's, LP's, 12" and more) on your shelf that aren't listed (including date of issue, label variations and cross references by musical group belonged to) and priced in this book. If you do, there is a yet larger edition called "Rockin' Records" by the same author which supposedly WILL list it! I believe there are also separate editions for the Elvis and Beatles fanatics to whom every label printing smudge creates a new variation. This book lists ALL the top 100 chart recording artists (alphabetized by artists or group name) of the 1900's, including any group they ever appeared in and EVERY record they ever produced! Some of the prices are, as I mentioned earlier, questionable, but it gives an excellent overall relative guage to the value of your records

3.0 out of 5 stars Jerry Osborne 2001 Record Price Guide, October 31, 2002
By Thomas Miccolis "jhendrixfan" (Maryland United States) - See all my reviews
(REAL NAME)
I'm a big Jerry Osborne fan. This book has a wide range of uses but some rather big limitations. Jazz is rather weak, Classical is almost non-existent and imports and bootlegs are...well...pretty much missing altogether. I like the organization and the format. Some worthwhile records are completely overlooked though. For example Errol Gardner (Jazz) has some $100+ records (Dimensions?) which are not even listed as anywhere near that "value". Numerous Hendrix, Miles Davis, and other performer's imports are not even mentioned. No listing for "Angry Somoans" either. A Very worthwhile book but not as "all encompassing" as it is touted to be. An excellent Elvis, Beatles, Sinatra, and Rock guide though!
