About the Author

Peter Isler is well known throughout the world of sailing as a teacher and a top competitor. He has won the America's Cup twice, serving as Navigator aboard STARS & STRIPES in 1987 and 1988. In 1992 he was commentator for ESPN's America's Cup coverage.

Having grown up sailing small boats (he was honored as Intercollegiate Sailor of the Year while at Yale University), Isler understands the many facets of sailing. 5.0 out of 5 stars Excellent and clearly written, October 17, 1999

I got the book from the library and now I'm going to order it. It's very clearly written with good illustrations and diagrams. The author tends to explain things twice which makes it easier to understand the concept.

Clearly written and to the point.

To Author: you should make an instructional video also

5.0 out of 5 stars Excellent!, November 24, 1998
By A Customer
This is a wonderful introduction to the sport. It's a very "user friendly" book with good illustrations and diagrams. Of the many beginner guides to sailing, this is by far one of the best. Highly recommended.
