Product Description

'I put poison ivy on my ex-husband's underwear so he would think he had a disease.' 'Sometimes I have people over for dinner. When it comes time to serve the food, I always serve myself just a little bit more. I don't know why. I just have to have the most.' 'I dumped a guy once because I hated his voice. He was very good looking, but when you're in a long-distance relationship, a voice really does count for a lot.' NotProud.com creators Scott Huot and GW Brazier selected more than 250 of the most compelling anonymous confessions from their widely popular website. Part confessional, part peep show, this can't-put-down collection - categorized by the seven deadly sins (and the catchall 'Miscellaneous') - showcases the poetic, pathetic and occasionally bizarre thoughts and behaviours of everyday people. From fondling statues, to vengeful cat-food sandwiches, to an unabashed celebration of cheese, "Not Proud" feeds our inner voyeur with an array of the best and worst of human behaviour.

5.0 out of 5 stars Hilarious, pathetic and just plain perverted, January 21, 2005
I am proud to say I've been visiting notproud.com since it came out in 2000, and was pretty excited about getting this new collection. I actually have their original book from 2003 which was only available online (I think..) and appears sold out. There are repeated confessions from the earlier one (including the one that explains the green skittle on the front, hehe), but there are a lot of great new ones that would take you a million years to find on the actual site.

There's a lot of other online confession sites out there now, but IMO there's always been something about the starkness of notproud.com where there are no casino ads and bloggy chatter that just gets the juiciest, most honest confessions out of people. It's like a sacred space, where people admit unholy things. Anyway, what can I say - i'm a fan!

Oh yeah, part of the fun for me is going through the book to see if one of my own online confessions made it in. No luck so far, but I like to think maybe I'll be naughty enough next time!

5.0 out of 5 stars Good assortment of secrets, May 15, 2008
My only problem is that I read these books too fast. Also, I was under the impression at the time of purchase that it was one i the series of postsecret books. It was not. Still very interesting, though.

5.0 out of 5 stars Reading secrets..., May 14, 2008
I really enjoyed reading this book. I suppose the voyeur in me liked reading about the secrets of others. It made me want to make a list of things I could contribute to a second edition. I'm relieved to have not had much material to share.
