4.0 out of 5 stars good for test bank questions, but not learning the material, May 24, 2006
It seems professors use these questions alot and they helped stimulate my interest in the material I had already learned. However, it is not a "review" as titled, in other words, the book does not methodicaly review or teach you indiviual concepts covered in the course. An EXCELLENT choice for that purpose is the "pocket" version of this textbook by the same offer. That really helped me learn pretty thourougly and fast.

5.0 out of 5 stars A Must, December 25, 2007
Everyone must own this book. Not only does it provider concise and relative physiology but also how it relates to common diseases often seen in the OR. I really enjoy reading it and it is well put together.

4.0 out of 5 stars Guyton and Hall Physiology Review, April 21, 2006
By Darrell Wu (Chicago, IL United States) - See all my reviews
(REAL NAME)
I give this book 4 stars because the questions are simple and are not representative of medical school physiology exams, which often require a greater understanding of the material than is required to answer the questions. I found a majority of the questions to be detail oriented questions that you would be hard pressed to glean from BRs Physiology or possibly from lectures (I read through this book after having taken a course in physilogy). However, that is not to say the book is useless. The book is very useful for flushing out any deficiencies you may have in your understanding because while overall I feel it is weak, there are some very good questions that test basic concepts. Therefore the book can be used as a supplement or as a quick review for the boards to check for understanding of material. Just don't expect a good question bank that reflects what you may encounter on your physiology exams -at least it was that way at UIC. With all that said, I highly recommend reading the parent text and also the text by Berne and Levy.
