Editorial Reviews
From Publishers Weekly
A domestic skirmish takes a sinister turn in No Love Lost, the sixth Phyllida Moon mystery from British veteran Eileen Dewhurst (Death of a Stranger). When the dysfunctional Jordans Hugh and Sandra suspect each other of cheating, actress and detective Phyllida Moon dons several disguises to keep tabs on the alleged philanderers at their business meetings and community choir rehearsals in the small English town of Seaminster. Brisk dialogue and the complications of Moon's many alter egos add flair to this old-fashioned whodunit.

From Booklist
After vacationing in Scotland, where she fell in love, married, and became a widow, PI Phillida Moon has returned to the Peter Piper detective agency and is back on the beat, outrageous costumes and all. She's happy to be in disguise, which makes it easier to hide her true, mourning self. The new case involves battling spouses: the husband, Hugh, conducts a choir that Phillida's first persona, Miss Spence, joins. Persona number two, the American Mrs. Parker, befriends Hugh's wife, Sandra. In the middle of the bickering is Hugh's daughter, whose jealousy and spite for stepmother Sandra complicate Phillida's case all the more. Dewhurst has created an intriguing, delightful heroine in Phillida, and we are allowed a deeper glimpse into her character here as she remembers the whirlwind romance with her late husband that culminated, tragically, in his death. But the lightness of her case offsets the seriousness of her memories, keeping this English cozy pleasant and heartwarming. Mary Frances Wilkens
