5.0 out of 5 stars OUTSTANDING AND WONDERFULLY HELPFUL, May 13, 2003
By Pec Indman (san jose, ca United States) - See all my reviews
(REAL NAME)
I recommend this book to all husbands, partners and family members of women suffering from postpartum depression. I am a clinician specializing in treatment of prenatal and postpartum mood disorders. This book is succinct and to the point. It is written in bullet points and brief paragraphs that give specific and clear information. Chapters include topics such as Understanding PPD, Misconceptions about depression, What she might be feeling and what you can do about it, What NOT to say, and more. Important sections cover topics such as coping, what you (the husband) might be feeling, medications, and recovery. It's amazing Kleiman could get so much information into this book. So often the husbands and families are confused about how to understand this problem and be helpful. Anyone who reads this book will feel supported.

5.0 out of 5 stars A must have book for post partum depression, March 10, 2002
By Diane Guillotte "mybeachwalk" (Gulf Breeze, Florida United States) - See all my reviews
Ordered several books on post partum depression. This book is absolutely a must have for anyone close to and concerned about someone with post partum depression. Easy to read, and understand. Adresses both what the wife and also the husband are feeling during this misunderstood illness. My daughter is in recovery from PPD now, and my husband insists that we order more copies to have on hand for other people we may come in contact with...

5.0 out of 5 stars A Wonderful Book, September 25, 2004
I suffered severely from PPD for over a year after the birth of my daughter in June 2003. This book helped my husband help me. It also was a great comfort to me. If you are suffering from PPD, and you are reading this, know you WILL get better...even though it doesn't seem like it. Buy this book and insist that anyone close to you read it...your husband, your Mom your Dr. It truly will help. You are NOT alone.
I also suggest Beyond The Blues. I not only read this wonderful book by Shoshanna Bennett and Pec Indman, but was lucky enough to get therapy from Shoshana. She is a wonderful person and has a deep understaning of PPD and how it effects a family.
