The Real World: Hawaii has revived the somewhat lackluster MTV series with its refreshingly interesting cast members and its problems that are more genuine than "Gee, you really annoy me." This is the episode known for its alcohol, nudity, and group of kids that seem to truly like each other. The Real World You Never Saw: Hawaii takes a peek at some of the events that ended up on the cutting-room floor. You're thinking T&A right now, aren't you? Yes, there's much discussion of Teck's "big black snake" and loads of bare bodies romping about, but with the obscured film, you don't get to see any of the privates being discussed--although there is one provocative scene in which three women strip for a photo shoot. What you do get on this video is exactly what you'd expect if you've seen any of the other Never Saw tapes: cameramen flops (including one who fell into the pool during a romantic moment), body noises, and lots of conversation about poop. Fans of the show won't want to be without this one. --Jenny Brown

I don't know what MTV thinks "uncensored" means, but it sure isn't what my dictionary says! There are some funny and interesting behind the scenes spots, but the annoying BLEEPS over any nasty words and the mosaic over any nudity far outweighs anything positive about this tape. If anything, the footage teases with new footage but never comes through. I wasn't expecting any porn shots, but figured I'd see or hear something "uncensored". STAY AWAY!

This is a very misleading video package. You will expect nudity and adult material, but it's just a collection of stuff you could have easily seen on MTV. From now on I will consult Amazon reviews before wasting $19 on a piece of garbage like this. If anyone knows how I can get my money back from Sony, let me know!

I found the out-takes of the cameramen and sound specialists' interesting. Since you never see how they interact with the cast, you do get a "behind the scenes feel" during this part. Some of these out-takes were funny. However the tape is not uncensored as it is marketed. All private parts are still hazed out. Guys and interested girls, there is one good photo shoot scene with Ruthie and Kaya. Even though the nakedness is not shown, it's worth seeing. The rest of the time they're interviewed about uninteresting topics like "who ate whos food" and bodily noises. Aside from some amusing confession room shots that never made it to TV, there is no new inside dirt at all if you've seen the episodes. All in all, it's a good rental to pass some time.
