Product Description

Star Trek's original series is the pop culture icon that started it all. Spawning four subsequent television series, ten movies, countless best-selling books, conventions, and even a language of its own, Star Trek inspired imagination, exploration, and adventure in a way not previously experienced. Space is still the final frontier, which is one reason the show rages on in syndication and merchandise sales. Even those born decades after the show's original run know Kirk and Spock, and are fascinated by their adventures. Featuring full-color images from the show and a pull-out centerfold with original art, this calendar is one no true fan can be without.

2.0 out of 5 stars Caution - This may not be what you get, December 30, 2004
By Jeffrey R. Young "Silver Fox" (Columbus, OH USA) - See all my reviews
(REAL NAME)
I am a big Star Trek fan and a big Amazon fan so imagine how pleased I was (after having bought this calendar way back in August) to see that this looked like a totally different cover for the same year (2005).

However, when I recently received the calendar it was the same white background as the one I had purchase several months ago. I have contacted Amazon customer service and they could not yet determine if there are indeed two different calendars. They are investigating. In the meantime, I thought I would enter this review to keep other Star Trek "nuts" like myself (who absolutely must collect ever different calendar) from making my mistake.

I will update this review as soon as I get a definitive answer from Amazon. Until then...CAUTION...what you see is not what you get!

5.0 out of 5 stars TOS Calendar is Fantastic, December 27, 2004
By Mark Lopa (Connecticut) - See all my reviews
Finally, a TOS calendar that incorporates photographs from both the TV series and the movies. Brilliant!

I knew this was a TOS calendar by the font on the front. This is a clear indication that only TOS images would be inside.

3.0 out of 5 stars Nice centerfold! (:, December 17, 2004
I've been more of a fan of the Ships of the Line calendar series since it started several years ago, but as a TOS fan from before there were any movies, who am I to complain when a family member gives the TOS calendar to me each year as a birthday present? (:

The layout is very minimalistic as another reviewer noted, just a white background for both the image and calendar, making a fairly stark impression compared to last year's rather spiffy dual-image page design. The main text does make use of one major color of each month's image, so there's some feeling of "theme" in that sense.

The images are 10 TOS and 2 TOS movie cast shots. The cover is not actually the movie Enterprise as shown on the Amazon page, but instead a CG TOS Enterprise on a white background.

But as both a TOS and "Ships Of The Line" fan, it's the central, non-calendar image that just knocks me away -- it's gorgeous. I assume it was in the running for the SOTL calendar but wound up here instead, as it's the same two-page horizontal format and quality. It's a CG image showing the Enterprise and shuttlecraft checking out the (beautifully) busted-up USS Excalibur after the M5 Computer war games. As a TOS fan that came in through the mechanics, it sets my heart a pitter-pat, yes it does... (:

The pictures look old and you would think that it would consist of at least some pictures from TNG, Voyager, DS9 and perhaps a shot or two at least (since its for 2005) from the... Read more

3.0 out of 5 stars Needs to go where no calender has gone before.........
Unlike last years calender; this one does not have any intricate backgrounds with the Enerprise. It's just a plain white background with the photo in the middle. Read more
