Product Description

Mrs Moneypenny was a launch columnist in the Financial Times weekend magazine The Business, and now continues in Financial News. In 1992, with a newly minted MBA, not long married and with a young child, Mrs Moneypenny embarked on a career in the City. The next nine years were to see her initiated into the way the capital markets really operate. Moving to Hong Kong, Singapore and Tokyo, and producing two more children en route, by the time she left the Square Mile to set up her own business she had worked across most investment banking disciplines and with many extraordinary characters. This entertaining and enlightening book is a guide to what it's really like working in the city. It opens with Mrs Moneypenny applying for jobs, covers her rise through the ranks to her appointment to run an investment bank in Japan and finishes with her decision to trade in the long hours and big bonuses for more control over her life. Along the way you will learn how the City works, why people are paid so much money, and much, much more. If you want to know what every female stockbroker needs to carry in her handbag or how to survive a dawn raid, Mrs Moneypenny's lively guide to the City will be an eye-opener.
