A smart, strong, superb and sexy read!, December 29, 2007
Jill Shavis gives us another winner in her "sexy" series following the pilots and owners of Sky High Air who cater to the rich and affluent. Her first in the series was Smart and Sexy, which featured Noah. The second in the series, Strong and Sexy gives us Shayne Mahoney, the carefree playboy of the group.
It starts off with him throwing an engagement party for one of his affluent and very weathly clients, Sandra Peterson. He runs into a beautiful brunette who doesn't fit in with the crowd. He ends up in a closet making out with her by the night's end. They get interrupted and finally introduce themselves to each other. It turns out she is Dani Peterson, Sandra's smart daughter who has been labeled by her family as crazy. She is a zoologist who shuns the her mom's lifestyle and her trust fund to do what she loves.
Dani witnesses a murder after the party, but comes back with Shayne and the evidence is gone. No body, no blood. Is she really crazy like her family says? Dani and Shayne get thrown together after this incident as well as a stranger breaking into her apartment, being shot at, being attacked at work. The problem is the lack of evidence. Is she imagining the dead body and does anybody believe her? Shayne does and stays close by her as well as in her bed until the situation is resolved because they can't ignore their incredible chemistry that they have together.
The love scenes are hot from the beginning in the closet, the dessert scene, and the plane. You will have to read to get all the sexy details. The reader is also kept in suspense until the very end of whether Dani is really crazy or is someone really after her. If someone is after her, who is it and why?
My favorite character from this series so far is Maddie, the Sky High Air's know it all concierge/secretary who keeps everything running smoothly and has a long running crush for Brody, the other pilot and owner. I can't wait for the next one in the series, Superb and Sexy which is Brody's story. I hope it is Brody and Maddie's story because those two have incredible chemistry together and really need to get together. Strong and Sexy offers a few little teasers involving these two getting together. All I can say it is what took those two them so long and I can't wait to see how they finally come together.

Romantic fun from Jill Shalvis, January 21, 2008
When Dani Peterson comes rushing into the private engagement party at Sky High Air, an adorable mess of a woman, Shayne Mahoney is instantly intrigued. Not only does she seem totally out of place among the guests gathered to celebrate the impending marriage of one of Sky Air's most important clients, but she obviously doesn't want to be there. Shayne soon learns that Dani is the daughter of the future bride being celebrated at this extravaganza; the very daughter who is rumored to be more than just a little crazy. What Shayne doesn't know is that Dani's arrival is just the beginning of a very wild night. After an uncomfortable confrontation with her mother, a heated kiss with Shayne in a closet of all places, Dani rushes out almost as quickly as she arrived, only to return, insisting that she just witnessed a shooting. Without a body or a victim, Shayne can't help but doubt her. Soon after, when Dani is certain that someone has been in her apartment, and then the two are shot at, Shayne no longer questions Dani's sanity and is determined to keep her safe.
Dani works as a zookeeper and is content to live without the trappings of high society and wealth. She is doubtful of Shayne's interest in her, seeing how she's the polar opposite of the women he usually dates. Shayne is more than a little surprised at the attraction himself. He finds Dani irresistible; without a doubt the sweetest, most genuine woman he has ever known.
Shayne is excellently written as the typical ladies' man, but he's also conscientious and caring. His patience with Dani, even when questioning her clarity on what is going on, is heartwarming. Dani is a breath of fresh air, incredibly bright and self-sufficient, but without an inflated opinion of herself. The pain she feels because of her family's misunderstanding of who she is has been especially well written.
I feel certain that everyone who enjoys contemporary romance with touches of comedy, sensuality and mystery will love STRONG AND SEXY. Jill Shalvis never fails to entertain, always providing her readers with intelligent characters and fresh, creative storylines. I have no hesitation in giving this book the highest of recommendations.

exciting heated romantic suspense, January 9, 2008
Sky High Air charter airline pilot Shayne Mahoney meets his socialite client's daughter zoologist Dani Peterson at a party. Each are instantly attracted to one another Shayne, known for his womanizing even more than aviator skills, lures the beautiful, brainy, and some say batty Dani into a closet where the kisses between them shake up both of them
However, Dani insists she ahs witnessed a murder; Shayne like almost everyone else who knows her assumes she is batty. He thinks how ironic that the woman of his dreams is a fruitcake when she insists someone is stalking her. However, he revises his opinion when he realizes even the paranoid is sometimes right as Shayne risks his life to keep his beloved Dani safe while someone tries to kill her and now him.
The second aviator romance (see AUSSIE RULES) is an exciting heated romantic suspense that will have readers flying with Jill Shalvis. The story line is fast-paced and filled with action as bullets fly everywhere. However, the relationship between the anti-socialite Dani and the womanizing Shayne make the tale soar as he wonders with all the women he has loved how could he fall in love with a nut until he realizes that whether it is mile high or on the ground someone wants her dead. Jill Shalvis provides a fabulous tale that flies from take-off to landing.
