"Lots of heat with lots of humour." - Maryjanice Davidson"

Product Description

Cassie Montgomery was in no mood for messing around - until she got an eyeful of the sizzling-hot miscreant breaking into her half-brother Dan's Hawaii home. Turns out he's not a criminal, but a friend who's just as suspicious of Dan's 'accidental' death as she is. Cassie's beyond tired of bashing heads with thick-skulled local law enforcement, so there's only one thing for it: team up with Caleb Wilson, and try to keep her secrets - and hands - to herself...Having a gun trained on him is nothing new for Cal. But when said gun is brandished by a goddess sporting short-shorts, a bad attitude, and a hidden agenda? A man should consider his choices very carefully. Option one: Seduce first, ask questions later. Option two: Find out why she's in his Air Force buddy's torn-up house, then seduce her. Option three: Let the islands do their work and let the woman behind the weapon seduce him.

2.0 out of 5 stars have had hotter from a motel 6, April 21, 2009
I've heard fantastic things about this author, and several strong words of praise for this book. I'm still scratching my head to figure out WHY.

In 'hotter' we start with the hero (Cal) being held at gunpoint by the heroine (Cassie) in her brother's trashed home. The brother was killed, and the 'was it really an accident?' question has left Cassie on the island and harassing local law enforcement like an idiot. No, really she just keeps asking questions and aimlessly poking around with no real proof or goal other than just knowing that her 1/2 brother that she's not all that close with couldn't have messed up. (insert eye roll here)

Our flyboy hero's issues with family and commitment are weak at best, and our heroine is never really developed beyond being barbie like in appearance and having a flare for loosing her temper and threatening violence. Combine that with local law enforcement that we're not quite sure if they're good or bad, and a boring villain this tale had me ready for the end.

The action between the sheets was ok, but outside the bedroom more detail on the scenery (it's Hawaii for pete's sake!) and more effort to make this an actual suspense (I was never on edge) would have been good. It's too bad the author didn't spend more time on developing the characters so that I could feel and believe them AND coming up with a more satisfying and less gag inducing ending.

Not worth the price.

5.0 out of 5 stars It's Hotter in Hawaii, October 25, 2009
Caleb Wilson is about to get shot by a beautiful woman. Cassie Montgomery was searching through the wreckage of her brother Dan's ransacked home when Cal tried to break in. Turns out, they are both on the same team, sort of. Cal has come to Hawaii to find out what happened to his Air Force buddy, and Cassie is trying to figure out why someone wanted her brother dead. While Cal lets Cassie believe she's in charge of their investigation, the sparks fly between them. Unfortunately, so do gun shots. Someone wants Cassie and Cal to leave things alone, but Cassie is determined to see her brother's name cleared. But Dan might not be the good guy she always thought he was. Can Cal help Cassie without falling for her or hurting her?

It's Hotter in Hawaii is fun, exciting, suspenseful, and sexy. There is a lot of sexual tension and chemistry between Cal and Cassie. Cassie is stubborn, pushy, and aggressive -- in a good way. She can hold her own and doesn't take anything from anyone. Cal needs a woman just like Cassie to keep his life interesting. It's Hotter in Hawaii plays out like a good book should. The danger grows right alongside the romance.

4.0 out of 5 stars humorous romantic suspense, March 31, 2009
Cassie Montgomery is upset over the death of her half-brother Dan Rutledge that was ruled an accident. Her feelings are not just grief, which she has in abundance; it is her belief that her sibling's death was no accident.

She is in Dan's Hawaiian home on a remote part of Kauai snooping around for proof when a thug tries to break in; only to be caught halfway through the window with a gun aimed at his head. Caleb Wilson persuades the she-warrior holding the gun that he is Dan's friend. He is shocked when she tells him Dan is dead. He agrees with her assessment that his death is highly suspicious in spite of the official position of local law enforcement especially with Dan's house trashed. As the pair team up to uncover the truth, he has a new overarching objective: to make love with his late buddy's sister.

IT'S HOTTER IN HAWAII is an enjoyable humorous romantic suspense starring two individuals whose matchmaker is a dead man. The lead couple is a wonderful fun pairing as each wants to know the truth of what happened to Dan and also want to get the other in bed; their debates at times feel like a 1930s screwball romantic mystery comedy, but much hotter. Although at times the romantic subplot supersedes the amateur sleuth inquiry, fans will enjoy following the antics of the sister and the friend go Hawaiian.
