In Search Of The Black Rose By: Carolyn Keene Reviewed By: S. Bhuiyan Period: 5This book is great. Nancy, Bess, and George go to England's Oxford University. There, at a dinner reception in the dining hall, an incident occurs that attracts Nancy's keen senses for investigating. The incident is that an arrow was shot from the gallery and landed right in front of Nancy! A note was stuck to the arrow showing a rather odd mesage. It read,"find the black rose and there you shall find a horrible crime." Now Nancy is on the mystery to see what crime she can uncover. I liked this book because it is easy to follow on and understand what is going on and because I believe the plot is brilliant. There are many descriptions and the ending was great. I also liked this book because it is thrilling and exciting and I was always waiting to see what would happen next. One of my favorite quotes in this book, located on page 16, is: "He couldn't have shot that arrow," Nancy said. "If he had, he would not be back in his seat already." I liked this quote because it seemed to have eliminated one of Nancy's suspects. Another good quote, located on page 128, is: "The name of your horse may have been a coincidence but the accident wasn't." I liked this quote because it showed that the mystery was getting dangerous. My favorite part of the book was when Nancy found out who the culprit to the crime was. I liked this part because it was so surprising and I would have never guessed who the real culprit was.
