Detailed narrative paints a brilliant picture of the Coming of Age ceremony, I felt like I was on the sunny hillside watching the events. The fast pace held my attention throughout the story especially during the vivid battle between the tribe and the soldiers. It is a story of hope for the hopless, courage for the those who feel they have none, and Love when all that is lovely has been taken away.

Connie Vines writes in the first person as Tanayia. From the first I found myself reliving a time that most would gladly change if given a chance. Don't mis out on this beautiful book, Whisper upon the Water.
