About the Author
Eric C. Orlemann has worked as a professional photographer for over two decades. As the proprietor of ECO Industrial Communications, he counts many of the large earthmoving equipment manufacturers in the industry as his clients. Over the years, Orlemann has amassed one of the world's largest private earthmoving photographic collections. In addition to authoring such works as Giant Earth-Moving Equipment and Caterpillar Chronicle, Orlemann has contributed numerous magazine articles and served as technical consultant for heavy equipment-related programming. --This text refers to the Paperback edition.
Since producing its first harvester in 1885 under the Best brand name, Caterpillar has been a leader in the construction and earthmoving industries, and most recently, has become one of the top five in agriculture. While providing limited coverage of Cat construction and mining machinery, this new photo-history provides a concise overview that focuses on the maker's agricultural line, including early steam and diesel tractors and significant postwar machinery. Photos are both archival and modern.
