Product Description

The ultimate Dale Earnhardt track record covers The Intimidators entire NASCAR career through 23 seasons and seven Winston Cup championships until his tragic death at Daytona in February 2001. In addition to track-by-track race records and every conceivable statistic relating to Earnhardt, a huge selection of photos feature shots of the NASCAR legend and the cars he drove on NASCAR tracks, beginning with his first race in 1978. Also included are details of Earnhardts International Race of Champions (IROC) efforts and his stunning performance with son Dale Jr. at the 2001 24 Hours of Daytona endurance sports car race.

5.0 out of 5 stars This is the Earnhardt Bible, May 4, 2001
By A Customer
I'm a stats junkie, but I wasn't prepared for this book. The author obviously did his homework for this book. Everything you need to know about Dale's career is here. Each of Earnhardt's seasons is presented with 20 categories worth of stats. His performance at each track is presented with 22 categories of stats. How in-depth is this book? You'll learn that Dale is the modern era leader in lead-lap finishes at Daytona (28, topping second place Bill Elliott and Ken Schrader who have 24 each). Can any other book provide that kind of information? Anyone looking for the definitive guide to Dale's career can stop looking. This is your book.

5.0 out of 5 stars Awesome, Awesome, Awesome!!, May 10, 2001
By A Customer
This has to be the most original take on Earnhardt I've seen. Most of the other books are light-weight, long-winded remembrances from sportswriters. This book presents Earnhardt's career from beginning to end, season by season and track-by-track. Literally all of the stats are here. I knew a lot about Dale, but never knew he achieved so much - especially early in his career. I didn't realize he won the seventh race of his rookie season. Then he won his first championship in 1980 in just his second season, beating out the legends (Yarborough, Petty, Allison and Waltrip). I knew Dale was great but this book does more to illustrate his greatness than any other book I've read (and I've read them all). If you are a NASCAR fan or a Dale fan, you will enjoy this book.

5.0 out of 5 stars stats, stats and more stats and stats you never thought of, January 7, 2002
By groverstunes "groverstunes" (Petersburg, OH United States) - See all my reviews
Let me say that I am a NASCAR and huge Dale Earnhardt fan! This book is a must have for ANY Dale fan. There are other stat books in the making by the same author of other great NASCAR drivers like Jeff Gordon. I had to have this book. This book is a testimonial of how great of a driver Dale was. You can't compare Dale to Richard Petty and you can't compare Jeff Gordon to Dale because of the different eras and technology in stock car racing but Dale was the best of his era and many other great NASCAR drivers like Ned Jarrett and Junior Johnson think he was the best ever. I agree!!! This book has every imaginable stat of Dale. From year by year to track breakdowns and even his IROC stats. A must have for any Earnhardt fan. We miss you Dale! Thanks for the memories!!! Rest In Peace!
