Editorial Reviews

Product Description

The author of Incredible Fish Stories turns his attention to young anglers who have their own stories to tell. Each tale has been verified by Morey and works both as exciting entertainment and as a you-can-do-it-too lesson to kids who are just starting to take their fishing--and reading about fishing--seriously. Two-color photos & illustrations.

FIERCE AND FANTASTIC

OR, DID YOU HEAR THE ONE ABOUT THE 1,000-POUND TIGER SHARK?

Hereís 11-year-old Clayton Ludington, who stood up to a 315-pound yellowfin tuna. The exceptional angler Weston Fowleróhe won his first tarpon tournament at the age of nine and a few years later caught a 1,000-pound tiger shark. And Terrie Allen, whose catch made it to the front page of the Los Angeles Examiner: Girl 105 Pounds Bags 103-pound Bass All By Herself. Plus lucky first-times, kids fishing since they were toddlers, father-daughter teams, and the two brothers who netted a fine rainbowóout of a water snakeís mouth.

A collection of bizarre catches, awesome anglers, and record-shattering feats, KIDSí INCREDIBLE FISHING STORIES presents 35 all-true once-in-a-lifetime (so far!) accounts. And thatís no fish tale.

5.0 out of 5 stars A Crazy Book!, November 25, 1999

This book is really awesome! You cannot believe the stories Shaun Morey has in his book. A six-year-old tiny little girl fighting a gigantic 76 pound salmon! Wow! That was just one story wait until you read the others.

4.0 out of 5 stars DID YOU HEAR ABOUT THE ONE THAT GOT AWAY?, June 1, 2005

On their first trip to Alaska a couple also embarks on another first - a salmon fishing expedition. The novice fisherman has a strike, a hard hit that begins a struggle with a salmon that lasts more than 37 hours.

Sound like a "fish story"? Well, it is, but it's a true one. Rather than putting together a collection of apocryphal fish stories, Shaun Morey has compiled a creel full of unusual amazing true fish stories in a compact 143 page volume that's fun to read.

In addition to phonographs, the book is sparked with lively illustrations and little known facts about our piscatorial pals.
