From School Library Journal
PreSchool-Grade 6?Ross clearly knows how to help children do crafts, and this book, like her many others, is a welcome addition. Although the activities are somewhat uneven in terms of ease of creation and adult help needed, there is something here for a variety of ages. The crafts all utilize recycled materials, and the illustrated instructions are easy to understand. Although there aren't any particularly original ideas here, these ornaments will be lovingly received by proud parents.?LF

Gr. 2^-5. Many craft books profess to be simple enough for school-age children to master on their own but turn out to be too difficult for kids to use without lots of help from adults. Not so with this gem, by a familiar craft book author. Well-written, step-by-step instructions accompany each project (29 out of the 30 projects are ornaments), with plenty of colorful illustrations for visual aid. Although there is some repetition of subject, the reindeer being the most popular motif, the end results are wonderfully varied. Ross has some great ideas for using household items (e.g., the beautiful Peaceful Dove made from coffee filters), but many of the projects will require a trip to a craft store. Even so, the cost of supplies should be minimal, and youngsters will love giving something they made themselves as a gift. Younger children can get in on the act if an older sibling or adult is willing to help them.
