Amazon.com Review
With all due respect to the author's long years in computing, ActiveX is not a particularly strong introduction to the field. The subject matter, which runs the gamut from how to install a browser on your PC to how to develop ActiveX controls in Microsoft Visual C++, seems too varied to suit the needs of any particular audience. Large sections of the book consist of language references and source code listings with little context or explanation to support them. Topics include installing and using Internet Explorer; using Microsoft FrontPage and viewing other HTML authoring tools, using building controls in C++, cascading style sheets, and the Microsoft ActiveX Control Pad. Many topic discussions (scripting in particular) are on the cursory side.
