5.0 out of 5 stars I loved it..., January 19, 2001
By David Ferrero "Yardie" (Hill Country, TX USA) - See all my reviews

Even though it did not have an English to Italian section as one reviewer complained, I still found this book to be very entertaining and informative. It is chock full of useful colloquialisms and it was a nice break from the usual "high school" type Italian one usually learns from instructional language books. I highly recommend this book to anyone who has a love for the language even if you aren't yet fluent in it.

1.0 out of 5 stars Who wrote this????, November 1, 2007
By Mauro Corbani (San Mateo, CA USA) - See all my reviews

Who wrote this book probably doesn't know how in Italy people speak. by the way I'm Italian and I live in California from 2006 so ... I know my language.
Some example: ABRAMUCCIO??? who uses this word in Italy?? maybe in her family. -- ACCANNARE??? Where in hell she got this .. the right expression is: CANNARE .. ACCHIAPPANZA????? what, who says this? an expedition for picking up girls??? what the hell is she writing? but let's go on ... ACCHITTARSI???? ACCHITTATO???? ACETO?????? Please ... don't use these words. we don't use them in Italy. There are some words in the book that we actually use but are less then 300. And if you are gonna use some of those 300, be careful ... you can receive a fist in your face

4.0 out of 5 stars x.o., January 29, 2005
By x.o. "x.o." (brooklyn) - See all my reviews
Most of the reviews I see here are incredibly bizzare!! People critiquing the book as if it were a serious language dictionary, complaining it's only english to italian etc.! The book is meant to entertain with all kinds of slang terms, most a little dirty or crazy. Very, very entertaining it is!. Check it out - especially if you already know some italian and can read the phrases aloud to your friends with gusto! It's hialrious

This compilation is fun to read, but as someone who is learning Italian and visits Italy frequently, I have to say that as a resource for speaking, it has its limitations. Read more

This book is great if you can hear Italian natives speak, and actually understand what they have said, otherwise it's useless with no English to Italian section. Read more
