1.0 out of 5 stars Don't waste your time on this one, May 27, 1998

I don't know who the authors or publishers thought this book would appeal to, possibly some Dilbert-world middle-manager who'd like to fling buzzwords around, but certainly not anyone trying to do real work. The table of contents is very impressive, too bad there isn't any content to back it up.

1.0 out of 5 stars You'll need more than just the book., April 9, 1998
By A Customer
I learned a few nice buzzwords, and found out what all the other things are I'll need to learn to build web databases, but this book starts out by telling you "we've left out the programming...that's for experts". That was my first clue that I wasn't going to learn many new things in this one. A beginner won't get many of the good basics here, and programmers won't learn anything new. The topics are all over the place. There doesn't appear to be a clear target audience for this book!

1.0 out of 5 stars Extremely poor, September 1, 1999
By A Customer
This book will teach you everything you need to know about putting a database on the web except how to put a database on the web. It describes how to make a basic database and how to make a basic web page, but whenever the subject of actually connecting the two comes up, the author says the scripting is too hard and you should hire a consultant.

This book is a complete waste of money.
