Product Description
Are you getting the most out of your Windows NT server or workstation computer? Understanding the ins and outs of Windows NT and knowing how to maximize its performance can mean the difference between a server that runs like a model T or a turbo-charged muscle car.

In Optimizing Windows NT, author Sean K. Daily, MCSE, combines years of research and real-world experience to produce a complete A-to-Z guide to enhancing your NT system. Topics covered include: reconfiguring Windows NT hardware and subsystems, understanding network architecture and protocols, finding and fixing bottlenecks, preventing data loss, benchmarking, maintenance, and third-party utility applications.

The CD-ROM features software utilities such as ConfigSafe/NT, Bench 32, TcpSpeed, SuperCache NT, and SuperPrint -- all designed to add power and functionality to Windows NT.

About the Author
Sean Daily is a Microsoft Certified Systems Engineer (MCSE) and president of iNTellinet Solutions, a network consulting/integration firm and Microsoft Solutions Provider located in Santa Rosa, California. Sean is also a contributing editor to Windows NT Magazine, an author of several Windows NT books, and a frequent speaker at industry conferences and events. When not writing or consulting, he can usually be found outside pursuing one of his other passions, which include motorcycles, rollerblade hockey, snowboarding, mountain biking, and tournament paintball.

5.0 out of 5 stars Great book on Performance Monitor, February 10, 1999
By A Customer
I work in Technical Support for a major backup software vendor. I love this book. It points out the same thing I point out to customers. Make sure your hardware is set right then you can check NT. Also great advice on NT Performance Monitor. Put this book on your NT troubleshooting shopping list. P.S. I bought the book alone from reading the same author's articles from Windows NT magazine, he had the same great straight forward info. Keep up the great work Sean.

4.0 out of 5 stars Definitively a reference on the subject, March 30, 1999
By Jean Maurice MEREL (Grenoble in the Alpes, France) - See all my reviews
It covers its subjects very well. It gives clear and useful explanations on available technologies and of what to do with it. Certainly too long to be read from beginning to the end.

5.0 out of 5 stars The NT systems book to always have nearby!, July 27, 1998
By A Customer
Sean Daily has provided a book that picks up where my MCSE training left off. He covers the basics and then dives into optimization of NT systems. He also covers maintaining systems and troubleshooting/recovery techniques providing systems administrators with 'beeper insurance'. The included CD contains many useful resources and demo programs.
