Editorial Reviews

Amazon.com Review

Mike Britton and Suzanne Van Cleve have taken the big view when discussing how to use NetMeeting 2.0. As with most how-to books, this one focuses on how to use its subject in the technical sense: how to start a conference, how to use the telephone feature, how to use the whiteboard, etc. But the authors go beyond the questions of how to make the software work to examine how to use NetMeeting 2.0 as a tool to get more out of what you do. They address how to get more out of business gatherings and out of online communications with friends and relatives.

Published by IDG, this book carries over the straightforward commonsense approach, conversational tone, excellent organization, and sense of humor that has made the company's Dummies series so successful (although the sense of humor is more dressed up and less zany). The book is organized into three parts. The first offers a feature-by-feature description of NetMeeting, showing the reader how to make it run. Part 2 discusses how to use NetMeeting to run meetings, provide customer service and tech support, telecommute, and provide for distance learning. The final chapters provide extra tips and insights on using NetMeeting in both your business and personal life. An enclosed CD-ROM offers the latest versions of NetMeeting, Chat, and Internet Explorer. --Elizabeth Lewis
