This review is from: Great Piano Works (Paperback)
What a treasuretrove of romantic and post romantic russian pianistic hands on sight reading music.Unfortunately there are truly reprsentative composers not seen that do reflect the growth and development such as Glinka, Medtner, Stanchinsky, Feinberg,Pachulsky, Scherabachov,Liapunov Blumenfeld,Bortkiewicz,Balakirev,Anton Rubenstein, Vitol plus Leschetizky, even Ciurlionis Now that the new Grove Dictionary of Music is available in 29 volumes it is now possible to read just how great these pianists and composers really were in an age where the piano reigned.
