The Marvelous Jew, September 9, 2000
The Golden Age of salsa music-that unique blend of Caribbean and African rhythms known as mambo, cha-cha, rumba, or son-is lovingly re-created in this feature-length video, which traces the birth and history of salsa in New York City in the Seventies. Our guide through the exciting world of Latin music ais one of the legendary figures of salsa, Larry Harlow, member of the Fania all Stars and leader of Orchestra Harlow, a New York native of Jewish extraction whose remarkable musical talents won him the affectionate nickname, El Judio Maravilloso"(The Marvelous Jew). This musical video traces the historical roots of salsa, chronicles the clubs and personalities of salsa's Golden Age-the Catskills, the Cheetah, Arsenio Rodriguez, Celia Cruz, and the Fania All Stars, and Larry interviews with such salsa greats as Cheo Feliciano, Santos Colón, Ismael Miranda, Don Tite Curet Alonso, Fania All Star co-founder Jerry Masucci, among many others. Pop this video into your VCR, move the coffee table out of the way, and get ready to salsa! This video features th e Fania All-Stars, Celia Cruz, Cheo Feliciano, Santos Colón, Ismael Miranda, and many others!

NOT A MUSICAL VIDEO AT ALL!, May 4, 2001
It's just a biographical video piece on Larry Harlow, as a puerto rican growing in the bronx in the 70's I can relate to Harlow's contribution to the music. However this video IS NOT musical at all. It's about music but, It does not contain music as it's being marketed. I was very dissapointed. It [also was not the price i expected to pay]. I'm sorry I had to return it.

Larry Harlow's Golden Age of Salsa, December 31, 2000
One could spend or sugarcoat this video with a lot of words. However, the fact is that this video is nothing less than a must have item to show and commend the beauty of diversity in Latin Music. All should be very proud in particular those of Jewish ancestry knowing that Larry Harlow is at the heart of salsa music.
