3.0 out of 5 stars Overall decent review, February 5, 2004
By A Customer
Have skimmed over this guide and it seems to have most of the essentials needed for the rotating resident/med student on a GI service. The approach to specific symptoms (part I) was very well done and has a lot of helpful information. The approach to specific diseases section (part II) was decent but I must say the section on small bowel disorders was extremely sparse and needs to be expanded. For example the author cites many things on the differential dx for small bowel malabsorbtion, but only celiac disease and short bowel syndrome are explained and these only in minimal depth. Would hope 2nd edition will add to this section.
