Editorial Reviews
From Library Journal
British parapsychology expert Wilson promises to be as prolific as his father, Colin Wilson, on matters of the unexplained. This book concentrates on the prophesies of Nostradamus through the centuries, right up through the Gulf War, the fall of Russian communism, and the future. Wilson also provides comprehensive information on other, lesser-known prophets such as Mother Shipton and Kenneth Mackenzie (the Brahan seer). His opening chapter is a riveting look at Morgan Robertson's 1898 story, "The Wreck of the Titan," which allegedly prophesied the Titanic disaster. The history of oracles, especially the Delphic Oracle, dating back to around 1100 B.C.E., is discussed in detail. In addition to prophets, Wilson also looks at the uses of the I Ching and astrology as prophesying tools. None of this is new, but the book is packed with interesting information. Clear, well written, and reasonably priced, it belongs in all public libraries.AMarija Sanderling, Rochester P.L., NH
