From Booklist
The songs in Disney movies are as memorable as the pictures, if not more so. You can sing "Zip-A-Dee-Doo-Dah," "A Spoonful of Sugar," and many other Disney tunes, but which pictures do they come from? Fanning presents more than 40 Disney songs (words and melodies) and interesting tidbits about them and their movies; for instance, he tells us that the vultures in The Jungle Book were based on the Beatles. The collection's only flaw is that some famous Disney songs aren't in it: "When You Wish upon a Star" is missing, and not a single song from Lady and the Tramp is here. But to find fault with a book that, after all, does contain all the words to "I'm Late" from Alice in Wonderland and "Never Smile at a Crocodile" from Peter Pan is to quibble. Mike Tribby
