5.0 out of 5 stars Another Excellent Effort by Nancy!, February 6, 2000
By Steve Miller (United States) - See all my reviews
Nancy did a bang-up job with this novel! Yes, there are a few editing errors, but overall the book captured both the feel of Ansalon in the years before the period portrayed in 'Chronicles,' and got all the *important* details right!

I think this is a fine addition to the Dragonlance line and a fine fantasy novel in its own right.

4.0 out of 5 stars A thrilling tale about the charming mage, Dalamar., January 9, 2000
By Mike Howell (Long Branch, NJ) - See all my reviews
Finally! I've been waiting to hear something more about Dalamar. I've read each and everyone of the Dragonlance books, so far, and was upset to see Dalamar in only a few of them. This book made my day, I am glad to see that someone at TSR is using their brains.

3.0 out of 5 stars A Long Time Coming, I think, February 1, 2000
By Jeffrey Logeman (Pittsburgh, PA) - See all my reviews
I thought this book was a long time in coming, but think that it could have been done better. It does seem at times that the author just read a few DL books to bone up on Dalamar, especially (unless this is an editing error) when the author refers to Kitiara's last name as Majere, not Uth Matar. This idea for Dalamar could have probably been made into a trilogy, giving Dalamar's very early days and ending with the following of the Chaos war. This character was crammed into one book. The book is a fair read.
