About the Author
Mr. Hinds writes and produces educational publications, including the National Issues Forums guides, designed to help citizens understand and discuss major social issues. He is the author of the highly regarded nonpartisan voters' guide, Clarifying Issues '96. Prior to joining Public Agenda, Mr. Hinds spent sixteen years with The New York Times as a reporter, national correspondent, and bureau chief. While there, he twice won The New York Times' Publisher's Award for Distinguished Reporting. He was also the recipient of the Roger Starr Journalism Award.
