Editorial Reviews
From School Library Journal
YA-- A book for anyone wanting to know what to do or say to help a relative or friend who suffers from this complex eating disorder. The authors examine the causes (societal, familial, individual); explore behaviors, thoughts and emotions; and present treatment options. The format is question and answer, and the style is very readable. At the end of each chapter is a list of helpful suggestions. The authors promise no easy path toward recovery, but predict a positive outcome with treatment, which is essential. The appendix and references list resources for treatment and additional information. --Judy Sokoll, Fairfax County Public Library, VA

Review
?Bulimia: A Guide for Family and Friends lets you see what most only see in hindsight--the basic ingredients and causes of bulimia--and helps you realize that, despite the frustration felt by all those involved, there is hope.? --Anita Rigby, mother of Olympic champion Cathy Rigby McCoy

?This book is a wonderful resource. . . . . Does a great job of anticipating readers' questions and responding to them in a clear and useful manner that is grounded in clinical experience, current research, and humane sensibility.? --Michael Levine Ph.D., professor of psychology, Kenyon College and board member of the Eating Disorders Awareness and Prevention, Inc.
