Editorial Reviews

Product Description
Norman Foster, recipient of the 1990 Pritzker Prize, is one of the most prolific contemporary architects. His remarkable buildings and civic projects have transformed cityscapes, renewed vital transportation hubs, and rejuvenated town centers. Ambitious, controversial, and impossible to classify, Foster succeeds in marrying a steadfastly modern sensibility with a masterly treatment of the architecture of the past. Foster's recent commissions include some of the most technologically and aesthetically challenging projects of the modern age: from the reconstruction of the Reichstag in Berlin to the new Hong Kong International Airport.

This stunning addition to Universe's architecture series showcases, with crisp color photographs and a vast range of sketches and plans, Foster's rare and far-reaching genius, which combined peerless technological prowess with a global-minded design philosophy. Produced in conjunction with Foster's office, this volume is among the first to include Foster's newest work: including the Valencia Congress Center and the Great Court at the British Museum.

With a chronological survey of the architect's career to date and an insightful introduction, Norman Foster: A Global Architecture is an essential addition to any architecture library and a lasting tribute to a figure who continues to redraw the boundaries of architecture and urban planning around the world.

By A Customer
Sir Norman Foster is one of the few architects who acts in what he believes. The book is a great collection of his amazing feats in architecture.
