Editorial Reviews

From Library Journal

First published in 1991, this illustrated reference book has been updated and expanded to include the latest international tournaments and notable golfers as well as new championship courses. Golf journalist Campbell, a native of Scotland the birthplace of golf traces the history and lore of the game in this volume, which includes hundreds of full-color photographs and a new introduction on the modern game and its players. Full-color maps and walk-the-course commentaries complement an A-Z section on the world's great golf courses. Featuring 100 golfing champions, the updated Hall of Fame section profiles golf legends such as Harry Vardon, Bobby Jones, and Jack Nicklaus as well as today's stars: Tiger Woods, David Duval, Lee Westwood, and Sergio Garcia. This newly revised edition also features highlights of the last decade, with up-to-date statistics, developments in the women's game, and the top golf architects and designers of the modern game. Recommended for most public libraries. Peter Ward, Smithtown Lib., NY
